David
B. Blessing practices in the areas of family and
marital law, personal injury, wrongful death, insurance
disputes, and criminal law.
Mr.
Blessing was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1963 and has been
a resident of Central Florida since 1991. He graduated with
honors from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law (J.D., 1991)
and, before that, graduated from the University of Illinois
at Chicago with departmental distinction in finance (B.S.,
1988).
After
law school graduation, Mr. Blessing spent two years gaining
valuable courtroom and trial experience as an assistant
public defender in Orlando representing people accused of
committing a crime. He then went on to a medium size civil
law firm where he represented insurance companies and their
insureds and policy holders for 10 years in areas involving
insurance disputes, personal injuries, wrongful death, products
liability, medical malpractice, and construction litigation.
Mr. Blessing then chose to use the knowledge he had gained
and changed course to represent people—people who
have been harmed, including those injured or killed as a
result of another's negligent or wrongful act, insureds
and policy holders, including health care professionals,
who have been paid little or no benefits due and owing by
an insurance company, and people who are going through marital
and family-related difficulties.
Mr.
Blessing is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts,
the United States District Court for the Middle District
of Florida, and the Supreme Court of the United States of
America. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1991 and
the Florida Bar in 1992. He is also a current member of
the Orange County Bar Association, Seminole County Bar Association,
American Bar Association (including the ABA Family Law and
Criminal Justice Sections), Florida Association of Criminal
Defense Lawyers, and Central Florida Association of Criminal
Defense Lawyers.
